How You Can Help Overview

Help us improve the response to sexual assault in our community.

Donate to Day One

Make a one-time gift, or consider a recurring donation that fits your desired level of impact. Each donation helps provide resources for us to support survivors with treatment and healing. Every gift matters to leave no victim alone.

Support Survivors with Donations

Our advocates provide clothing to survivors during their time of need. When victims must give up their clothes as evidence, they may not be prepared with extra clothing and supplies. Help us empower them as they leave the hospital after a sexual assault. **We can only accept new clothing with the tags still on. We cannot accept any used clothing.

Donate Art Supplies

Help survivors heal with expressive arts. You can support their art by donating art supplies, including paint, brushes, canvas, paint trays, and more.

Volunteer

Sign up to volunteer to contribute how and when you can. Each of our volunteers helps to support the important work we do.

Become a Helpline Advocate

Volunteer to meet and support survivors at hospitals and police departments. Day One provides a comprehensive 15+ hour training to prepare volunteers to provide advocacy to survivors in their time of need. Volunteer advocates provide support, information, referrals, and safety planning to survivors. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, have a driver’s license and a car, pass a criminal background check, and complete ALL training sessions. Advocates are eligible for certification upon successful completion of the training.

Event Volunteers

Sign up as volunteer to support our Dine for Day One. Help us spread the word as we plan, or offer your help on the day of the event.

Community Awareness & Special Projects

Help distribute materials in the community to educate the public about Day One services.
