The Rhode Island Children's Network - State Chapter of Children's Advocacy Centers
The Rhode Island Children’s Network is proud to serve Rhode Island as the State Chapter of Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs).
The RI Children’s Network plays a vital role in enhancing and supporting statewide CACs by providing training, technical assistance, and promoting greater awareness of the CAC model.
To enhance the CAC response and expand resources for victims, the RI Children’s Network actively participates in policy efforts focused on child safety and wellbeing.
Rhode Island has CAC locations in Kent, Newport, Providence, and Washington Counties.
The RI Children’s Network is a proud member of the National Children’s Alliance, a network of more than 900 CACs nationwide.
The Rhode Island Sexual Assault Coalition
As designated by the U.S. Department of Justice, Day One serves as the Rhode Island Sexual Assault Coalition. Day One has a long-standing commitment to informing, shaping, and strengthening comprehensive responses and services for survivors of sexual assault. This statewide convener is dedicated to ending sexual violence through community education, public policy advocacy, public awareness, and cross-sector collaboration.
Advocacy Resources
A Model Protocol for the Response to Sexual Assault Cases was developed by the Rhode Island Statewide Taskforce to Address Sexual Assault. This document serves as a resource for professionals to respond with a victim-centered approach across all disciplines involved in the response to adult sexual assault, including best practice guidelines, facilitation of immediate and comprehensive medical care, and inclusive processes to minimize the trauma to victims of sexual assault.
