Coordinator of Statewide Networks (RI Sate Chapter of CACs / RI Sexual Assault Coalition)

GENERAL SUMMARY

Coordinator of Statewide Networks is responsible for the execution of all duties related to established annual goals and accreditation requirements for the RI Children’s Network, State Chapter of CACs and the RI Sexual Assault Coalition.  

The Coordinator works collaboratively with associated staff within the Rhode Island CACs and the RI sexual assault victim service providers to establish annual goals and objectives to meet the needs of statewide CACs, multidisciplinary teams and sexual assault victims across the life span. 

The Coordinator will establish and maintain coalition membership, lead purposeful coalition meetings and develop an annual work plan with the membership and lead coalition initiatives as agreed upon by the membership.  Further, the Manager is responsible for all aspects and OVC requirements of Day One’s designation as the state sexual assault coalition.

The Coordinator will dedicate .5 of the position to Chapter roles and responsibilities and .5 to the role of the Sexual Assault Coalition.      

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

STATE CHAPTER

  • Develop annual goals and outputs based on NCA Chapter grant requirements and in accordance with the assessment of needs for development of statewide CACs. 
  • Comply with all reporting and survey requirements for NCA grant reporting.
  • Ensure awareness of and compliance for all standards for NCA requirements for accreditation as the Rhode Island state chapter of children’s advocacy centers.  Provide updates and written reports for Board of Directors meetings as needed.
  • Provide training and technical assistance based on needs assessment from CAC and MDT input to support CAC growth and development and education and awareness.
  • Provide program development and implementation for statewide initiatives and community outreach.
  • Participate in statewide affinity groups and coalitions as deemed necessary and relevant to children’s services and related to the work of CACs
  • Perform ongoing statewide need assessments to determine the training needs of Rhode Island’s MDTs/CSEC/CACs.
  • Develop annual communication and outreach plans to promote the work of the RI Children’s Network and statewide CACs.
  • Participate in all NCA and Regional CAC meetings and cohorts to ensure up to date knowledge for all matters related to chapters nationally.

SEXUAL ASSAULT COALITION

  • Develop annual goals and outputs based on OVC annual grant requirements of OVC and identify annual priority areas. 
  • Execute all requirements for state coalitions including but not limited to membership development, public awareness, prevention education and community outreach.
  • Comply with all reporting and survey requirements for OVC grant reporting.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Coalition members.
  • Attend and represent the Sexual Assault Coalition/Day One at statewide meetings related to legislative initiatives, related statewide affinity groups.
  • Support agency education prevention program with training and education on coalition work and related initiatives.

GENERAL

  • Communicate effectively with agency leadership and program staff to ensure the continued operation of all programs.
  • Develop and monitor associated grant needs for NCA and OVC
  • Attend all conferences and training for both Chapter and Coalition training and education.
  • Demonstrate cultural competency and value of diversity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high level of interpersonal skills to effectively handle all segments of the community.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills as well as ability to deal with difficult human and administrative problems.
  • A developed understanding of issues related to child sexual abuse and the multidisciplinary team approach to intervention and investigation.
  • The ability to deal effectively in stressful situations and to manage crisis as they arise.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • On site position in a typical office environment with remote work for project specific needs as approved by supervisor.
  • Statewide travel required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or Master’s Degree in a relevant field preferred.  Considerable experience in responsible position and/or any combination of education that is substantially equivalent.
  • Experience leading coalitions, community organizing, and alliance building. 
  • Experience with legislative process, policy briefs, policy analysis preferred.
  • Understanding of the dynamics of interpersonal violence, child abuse and multidisciplinary team development.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Office 365.
